Speedy Pre-Workout Smoothies by Poppy Cross

For all those times when I’m in a rush and want to hit the gym but need some fuel to give me the energy to have a great workout – shakes are my saving grace. They are super simple to make and absolutely delicious, especially with Bioglan’s Skinny Greens Vanilla protein powder which is made with pea protein meaning it’s suitable for any diet plus it’s easy to digest.   1. Berry Burst


1/2 punnet blueberries

1/3 punnet strawberries

1/3 punnet blackberries

Splash of almond milk


Why I love it:

Berries have a host of impressive health benefits. They’re loaded with fiber, which helps you feel full (and eat less), are high in antioxidants protecting your body against inflammation and free radicals (molecules that can damage cells and organs). Studies in aging animals even show that mixed berries improve cognition and motor performance and protect against arthritis.

1 medium banana

1 scoop of Bioglan Skinny Greens vanilla protein powder

Sprinkle of cinnamon

Splash of coconut water


Why I love it:

Bananas are loaded with digestible carbohydrates and are packed with potassium, which aids in maintaining nerve and muscle function. The body doesn’t store potassium for very long, so a medium banana before a workout will help keep nutrient levels high. I love having this shake in the morning before I exercise. Just blend a medium banana with one scoop of Bioglan vanilla protein powder. Wait about 30 minutes and then hit the gym. Your body will need the carbohydrates and protein.
